If there’s one thing we know about Rihanna, it’s that she can turn even the most quotidian activity into a fashion extravaganza. Consider her dinner outing to Giorgio Baldi, where she wore an avant-garde hip-padded Alaïa number, or the sherbet-hued Pleats Please dress she paired with statement sneakers while out in Los Angeles. And lest we forget the strapless Saint Laurent dress and Schiaparelli bag she threw on for a Fatburger run.

Today, however, Rihanna turned even the most dreadfully boring activity into an opportunity to stunt. Rih stopped by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Vital Records office—presumably in regards to her daughter Rocki Irish’s birth records. For her bureaucracy-driven outing, she offered her own interpretation of officewear: an oversized, double-breasted suit jacket with a cropped, shredded hem and heavily padded shoulders, which she wore over an austere white button-up with a popped collar.
Rih kept the raw hem consistent on the top and bottom. She opted for a pair of more fitted trousers whose frayed hem landed atop black pointy-toe pumps. She stuck with black accessories across the board, clutching an east-west Gucci horsebit purse, and wearing chunky black aviators from The Attico.
Not even the singers-slash-beauty moguls of our time are exempt from clerical errands, it seems. But Rihanna never misses an opportunity to dress up.
