On Fifth Avenue, many of New York’s iconic landmarks set the stage, but Saturday night’s spotlight belonged only to the Gucci Mansion. Located on Madison Avenue—directly behind St. Patrick’s Cathedral—the ephemeral venue served as the after-party backdrop following the Resort 2027 show.
The alluring invite promised an elegant house party held at the home of Barbara Gucci; aka the fictional character played by Demi Moore in Demna and Spike Jonze’s short film The Tiger. Guests arrived to Lotte New York Palace—the 19th century-era complex just a stone’s throw away from Times Square, where Demna had presented his first cruise show for the brand.
As black SUVs lined the street, the likes of Mariah Carey, Paris Hilton, Alton Mason, Laura Harrier, Playboi Carti, Alex Consani, Stormzy, Cindy Crawford, and Tom Brady emerged. Whisking past paparazzi and security, attendees made their way through the grand stone courtyard, which led into the three-floor after-party.
The first floor teemed with mirrored walls and cascading white calla lilies. A main parlor served large bottles of Pol Roger Champagne, cranberry Cosmopolitans, and ginger-infused tequila. Staff—who looked suspiciously like models—offered up trays of New York-inspired Gucci-branded snack boxes filled with an assortment of sliders, pastrami squares, and mini pizzas. One private room housed a live jazz quintet that performed swing classics, including Cole Porter’s I’ve Got You Under My Skin, and another room streamed a playlist of slow jams and Sade hits over a large speaker adjacent to a 16-seat dining table.
Seated amongst the crowd was GQ’s Mobolaji Dawodu, who noted: “Tonight feels sexy. The show was decadent, and there’s a lot of Gucci-heritage vibes happening here.” Taking it all in, Laura Harrier also exclaimed, “Being in the middle of Times Square for such a huge show, and then coming here to the mansion, is both exciting and a bit surreal.”
Leaning into the night’s magic were models Dree Hemingway and Mariacarla Boscono, who gathered for Tarot card readings inside a smoky, dimly-lit room on the mansion’s second level. Next door to the mysticism was a gym room—where some guests were actually working out—and a small office study, where Paris Hilton was posing for pictures next to a mahogany desk. When asked about her appearance in Demna’s first cruise show, Hilton replied: “It was amazing. And although this party is iconic, I know I’m going to be tired later.”
Sharing a similar sentiment was newly-minted Gucci model, Jayden Agya, who stated: “Walking the show tonight was so much fun because it’s my first time modeling. And being here amongst so many of my idols is just so unbelievable. It doesn’t feel real.”
Heading deeper into rabbit hole of the party and down a winding staircase, attendees found themselves in a basement that was converted into a club drenched in the brand’s signature red thanks to velvet walls and plush carpets. Between techno and house music sets spun by BrokinPaper, guests refreshed cocktails and grabbed bottles of ice-cold Saratoga waters at a tiny—but packed—bar in the far corner.
