Hannah spearheaded the planning process, and the two had a couple of pre-planning trips to the island to nail down details and to meet with their wedding planners, Laura Martinez and Cristina Tuoroes from Wedding Moore. “They were truly outstanding in their ability to bring our vision to life and help us navigate this process,” Megan says, with Laura adding that they exceeded all expectations. “If you’re getting married on the island, book Wedding Moore! If you can get Laura and Cristina, you’ve truly won the lottery.”
For their wedding looks, Hannah tapped her best friend, Kirsty Oriel, to create a bespoke piece. “It was incredibly special to choose the lace (which she hand-dyed to the perfect shade of champagne), the fabric, and have that time together to build a dress that was deeply personal,” Hannah shares. Megan, in pursuit of something elegant and timeless, found a dress from The Own Studio (a British bridal label known for its sleek silhouettes). For jewelry, they borrowed from their parents, grandparents and maids of honor. “Megan also wore CompletedWorks earrings and a necklace, with shoes from the British independent designer Izie, and I wore Loewe heels, which were the most comfortable and lasted all night,” says Hannah.
The couple enlisted Megan’s brother to officiate the ceremony, an experience they describe as deeply personal. “He did a very good job sharing our story while creating a truly informal and loving space for us to laugh and cry without judgment,” Megan says. After the two exchanged vows surrounded by family, friends, and the Mallorcan landscape, it was off to the cocktail reception.
“Our main priority was to ensure our guests felt utterly spoiled from the moment they arrived,” Megan says of the evening’s M.O. “Much dancing, drinking, laughing, crying.” And because the wedding was taking place in Spain, an ode to the local culture was a must. “We had paella show cooking and local Catalan dishes on the menu.”
Music was another major focus for the couple. “We booked the Mallorcan band Free Magic, who got everyone dancing straight after dinner,” Megan says. The two also enlisted their friends to contribute to the musical identity of the weekend. “We’re really fortunate to have super talented friends who are DJs, including queer icon and creative producer Zooey Gleaves (a.k.a. Lagoon), the brilliant Amsterdam-based garage DJ Saidah, and Matt Clarke all played different genres throughout different parts of the evening, ensuring the energy never dipped and had my gran dancing behind the decks,” Megan says.
Reflecting back on the weekend, feelings of gratitude and love are the lasting narrative. “From the start, our main focus for the wedding was centered entirely on our loved ones, and we poured immense thought into every detail,” Hannah explains. Having served as a bridesmaid for many friends, she mentally collected all the elements she most appreciated over the years. “Above all, I wanted to ‘pay that back’ by ensuring everyone had an unforgettable experience. I truly believe we achieved this, and my only regret is that we can’t do it all over again!”
