It’s summer, and we’re off the awards season circuit, and Anya Taylor-Joy keeps the fashion flag flying for the naked dressing trend. On this occasion, though, she took things up a level: presenting, the naked shoe.
The actor attended Miley Cyrus’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on May 22, where she led the event with a speech.
“Miley didn’t just grow up in front of the world; she outran every expectation it set for her,” Anya Taylor-Joy said, addressing the crowd. “She challenged the rules, rewrote them and, every once in a while, set them on fire in a teddy bear costume.”
Cyrus, Taylor-Joy said, had “never asked for permission to evolve,” and instead had done it “beautifully, unapologetically and always, always authentically.”
“Miley, darling, you have always been, and are now quite literally, a star. Thank you for shining brightly for all of us,” she added.
Taylor-Joy wore a sparkling silver Bob Mackie gown: an an archival crystal and white satin bugle-beaded fringe halter dress with a razorback, riginally designed for the 1990 resort collection. On her feet, a pair of barely there (quite literally) sandals with a clear perspex strip holding the foot in.
She was accompanied by her husband, Malcolm McRae. Donatella Versace was also among the special guests. (She opted for a white Versace mini-dress with strong, gold embellished shoulders and white go-go style platform boots.)
Cyrus wore atelier Versace couture from the fall 2015 collection: another statement near-naked dress, with webbed black material and crystal embroidery criss-crossing around her body to form a curve-hugging gown.
