“This red and black one—it’s giving zebra—and I’m obsessed,” Delilah Belle Hamlin told Vogue while pointing at her wishlist item: a woven and embellished Fendi Baguette on display at the brand’s Madison Avenue flagship store. “…And this snake skin? Are you kidding? But look at the blue one,” she said of another beaded fringe number that she spotted from across the room. “I feel like I need to go touch it.”
On a sweltering hot Tuesday evening in Manhattan, Fendi fans stepped out in the 90-degree heat to celebrate the legacy of the fan-favorite handbag. The event offered guests a first look at the new Baguette 26424 Re-Edition—first unveiled in Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Fall 2026 collection—alongside the immersive experience of The Baguette Lab; a new restoration and refurbishment service dedicated to the preservation of vintage Baguettes that is set to launch nationwide this July.
Ivy Getty was among the first to arrive, opting for a long-sleeved black Fendi dress and suede boots to compliment her nude-toned sequin Baguette that boasted a “mermaid-like” opal shimmer and a snake skin strap. “For me, I associate the first ‘It’ bag with the Baguette,” Getty said. “I’m so glad that they’re doing re-editions. It’s a really cute bag—and you can fit so much into it.”
Admiring The Baguette Lab’s embroidery station where artisans were busy hand-stitching embellished designs, Getty continued: “I am a big vintage shopper and I’m constantly scouring for bags. I’m obsessed with mirrored bags, and watching her make them by hand is such a special thing. I love the mix of colors and textures and how they use their sequins.”
Around 7 p.m., more stars dropped by the soirée, including Olivia Wilde, who appeared to embrace the heat in a floaty Grecian-style gown with tiny bows on the shoulders. The actress and filmmaker accessorized her look with a simple beaded Baguette that sparkled when it hit the light. Blake Lively arrived shortly after. In contrast to Wilde’s ethereal white, the Gossip Girl alum had donned a black and indigo denim ensemble for the night, with a trench coat draped elegantly around her shoulders as she clutched her black mirrored Baguette.
As the boutique began to fill up, more famous faces, including Ella Hunt, Deacon Phillippe, Lux Pascal, and Esther McGregor were spotted exploring the new Baguettes; a softer and slouchier style inspired by the original 1997 silhouette.
