“I’m sorry, do you have some prior commitment? Some hideous skirt convention you have to go to?” Such is a snarky line that Emily Blunt delivers as Emily Charlton in The Devil Wears Prada, a character who would rather faint than wear something hideous. Her glamorous look for the sequel’s New York premiere tonight was no exception.
Making her first red carpet appearance for The Devil Wears Prada 2, Blunt hit the step and repeat in a Schiaparelli gown from the recent spring 2026 couture collection. The sculptural design featured a fitted raffia bodice and voluminous tiered skirt. Designer Daniel Roseberry and Blunt share a close personal relationship: He also designed the gown she wore to the 2024 Oscars, when she was nominated for best supporting actress for her work in Oppenheimer.

For her jewelry tonight, Blunt chose elegant pieces from Mikimoto’s Les Pétales Place Vendôme Rosés collection. Dripping in diamonds? More like dripping in pearls: Her head-turning necklace was made of 156 Akoya cultured pearls, and accented with 18-karat rose gold and 4.86-karat diamond petals throughout. The star also wore pearl bracelets by the label, totaling 243 Akoya cultured pearls on her wrist alone.
All together, Blunt’s theatrical statement look tonight could not be more fitting for such a high-fashion film like The Devil Wears Prada. (After all, this is no time to play it safe!) We imagine the ensemble is something that her character would proudly wear in the film to, say, the Met Gala or couture week—so go ahead and call it a perfect approach to method dressing. Emily-approved.
