On Friday evening (April 10), the Duchess of Sussex stepped out with husband Prince Harry for a private Netflix event celebrating the second season of Beef—on their own turf of Montecito, California. What Meghan wore? The Gale gown from California lifestyle brand Heidi Merrick, known for its breezy west coast style dresses, which she accessorized with a loved pair of tan Jimmy Choo Etana 50 leather strappy mules and Brilliant Earth diamond stud earrings. The silky gown comes in an on-trend—but divisive—chartreuse shade, with a flowing tiered skirt and fitted bodice.
Tapped as one of spring’s it-colors, chartreuse is bright, electric, and a little acidic, appearing across the runways of Balenciaga, Alaïa, Valentino, and Tibi. With its bright, nearly neon appearance, chartreuse might feel intimidating to wear, but on Meghan, you can see how flattering a shade it can be.
