Spring has sprung and Jennifer Lawrence has emerged from hibernation.
Last we saw Lawrence this past January, she was zooming around New York on her e-bike, dressed in a furry leopard print coat. But now, she’s shedding her layers for warmer weather.
The morning after Easter, the actor accompanied her son, Cy, to the park. But even dressed for a lowkey morning outing, Lawrence still highlighted one of the fall 2026 runways’ biggest trends: primary colors.
Lawrence paid homage to The Beatles in a butter yellow “Strawberry Fields Forever” T-shirt from Junk Food clothing, which she wore beneath a vibrant red collared cardigan, and paired with medium-wash belted blue jeans. Her accessories also fit the bill—she matched the cherry red in her sweater to her slim Adidas Tokyo sneakers, and opted for a blue Monet “Water Lillies” baseball cap from Shrits.
But not everything was strictly primary: Lawrence toted a brown Hermès Lindy bag and shielded her eyes with brown-rimmed, sepia-tinted sunglasses. She even—gasp—dabbled in secondary colors with a jade beaded necklace.
While Lawrence’s look was decidedly lowkey, it represents an ongoing fashion theme. For spring, Michael Rider showed the primary colors on a daisy-printed minidress, jerseys, and silk scarves at Celine, while Duran Lantink offered a moto-inspired take at Jean Paul Gaultier. Saint Laurent followed suit for resort with ’80s-esque windbreakers and slinky slips while Chanel tried out pattern mixing for Métiers d’art.
Fashion’s love of yellow, red, and blue has also carried into fall: Buzzy brands like Lii and Auralee presented primary color blocking, while legacy labels like Loewe and Stella McCartney also rubber-stamped the trend. In her breezy jeans, T-shirt, and sneakers, Jennifer Lawrence reminds us that replicating runway trends is as simple as pulling from our own closet.
