Feeling Tired? These Ingredients May Help

Whenever someone asks me how I’m doing, the only thing that ever comes to mind is “I’m tired.” I then make a joke about how I need to find something more interesting to say, but the truth is I’m exhausted—and so is pretty much everyone else.

A study done in 2023 showed that a little over 20% of adults were experiencing chronic fatigue for about six months or less. Fast forward to 2025, and Glassdoor named “fatigue” as its word of the year. If 2025 was the year of protein and rebuilding strength, then 2026 is about to swing the other way and pick up the momentum: this year will be about finding energy.

This isn’t just wishful thinking or aligning myself with numerology’s prediction that 2026 will be a year of massive reset—a McKinsey & Company report on wellness in 2024 evaluated the industry at $480 billion in the US alone, growing 5% to 10% per year. Experts see wellness becoming an even bigger category within the beauty space, and everyone is most interested in ways to better their health. “Longevity is increasingly enabled by more accessible comprehensive testing panels, so it will be interesting to see how that impacts the category of products and services available,” says Anna Pione, partner at McKinsey & Company. “Overall, we see this as a space with continued consumer interest.”

Market research platform Spate adds that “energy” and “focus” as leading wellness trends that everyone will be focusing on next year. “These signals reflect consumers’ sustained interest in products that support performance, mental clarity, and daily functioning,” says Jenny Zeng, beauty analyst at Spate.

Ingredients to Keep an Eye Out For

Other than daily healthy habits, supplements, and certain ingredients will be key to increasing our energy levels. When it comes to ingredients and supplements, there are a couple of ingredients that experts predict will be on everyone’s radar, if they haven’t already. Those three main ingredients include:

Creatine

In the past, you may have thought creatine, a natural compound found in our muscles and brains, was just for gym bros. The compound is a known energy booster and comes with many benefits, mostly in helping athletes with strength training and performance (“It’s incredibly well researched and plays a critical role in how our cells metabolize energy,” Michelle Cardel, PhD, MS, RD, and chief nutritional officer at Weight Watchers, once told Vogue. “It can help build lean muscle mass and has been shown to improve athletic performance.”) and with cognitive performance.

Experts say that creatine will be everywhere in 2026. According to Spate data, creatine saw a 21.5M year-over-year (YoY) increase in interest from consumers, and it is predicted to increase 47.8% YoY growth the next year.

L-Theanine

The many health benefits of green tea are well-known, so it’s no surprise that a supplement that uses it as a main ingredient would become a main focus for next year. L-Theanine is an amino acid found in green tea that is said to ease anxiety, increase our focus, and boost our immunity.

While there is some evidence to support these claims, studies are still limited, and more research needs to be done. But that hasn’t stopped interest in the ingredient. According to Spate, interest in L-Theanine grew 7.4M and is predicted to grow at a 26.2%.

NAD+

“Longevity” was one of the many wellness buzzwords in 2025, and NAD+ was—and will continue to be—the ingredient of choice for anyone looking to live a longer and healthier life. Benefits included DNA repair, maintaining a healthy metabolism, and combating signs of aging in the skin.

According to Spate, interest in NAD supplements rose to 5.8M (a 400.9% YoY increase) and is predicted to see a 30.3% growth in 2026.

So here’s to looking forward to a year that will give us an energy boost. I know I definitely need it.
