Fresh from the world premiere of her new film Wuthering Heights, Margot Robbie joined Chloe and Radhika Seth, British Vogue’s film and culture editor, to discuss the spectacular looks she conceived alongside her stylist, Andrew Mukamel, for her press tour.
“Andrew—he’s a history major, so he really does his research,” Margot explains, referring to the Taj Mahal diamond necklace she wore for the occasion, once owned by Elizabeth Taylor—a fitting nod to the film’s romantic and gothic themes.
Robbie, who plays Cathy Earnshaw, is not only starring in the highly anticipated romantic drama opposite Jacob Elordi (as the divisive Heathcliff)—out Valentine’s Day weekend—but also serves as a producer, marking her third collaboration with director Emerald Fennell. Reflecting on the film’s ambitious scope, Margot praised Fennell’s ingenuity: “What she did with the budget she had—the producer in me couldn’t help but be in awe. I kept thinking, this is impossible that she’s pulled off all of this with what we had.” She pointed to the visually stunning set design by Suzie Davies and the riveting score by pop icon Charli XCX as standout examples of the all-star team Fennell assembled.
