Over the last six years, the pair have amassed a cult following of fashionable Londoners, who largely do remember the noughties, because they combine sympathetic tailoring with subtle revelations of skin. They were all over this collection too, on strapless gowns, peplum tops and even a see-through dress.
Perry and Wright decided to forgo a show this season, to focus on their global business, particularly the US and Middle East markets.The fall collection was a continuation of the one they showed in September—still minimal, and based on a warm palette, but a little sexier and refreshed.
The slit waistband we saw in September was back, only this time on a silk pencil skirt that stopped just above the knee. So were the backless buttons, on cashmere jumpers instead of silk shirts. The standout hue was a golden egg yolk yellow that took over a backless gown, a crop wool jumper and a silk skirt with a hammered finish. When the collection hits stores next fall, plenty of customers will be reaching for those long, black skinny tiny flares.
