The quiet loveliness of Nehera’s latest menswear collection is enhanced by the simple, but generous cut of the clothes. That said, the story here is color—color that seeps through the eyes into the body and carries emotion with it.
The work of Agnes Martin informed the palette and the mood. “Quiet authority is the main motto,” said CEO Ladislav Zdút on a Zoom. It’s rare these days to find confidence expressed sans bravado or loud volume. The soft and “feminine” touches in this collection—a natty jacket with a scarf lapel, a draped and scarfed blouse, the long, untied fabric belt on roomy trousers—only enhance its sense of lavish ease.
Jeans with a peachy golden glow were created via a double dye process. Pastels were tempered with neutral tone poems as in the opening look. “Agnes Martin says that the value of the art is in the observer; I would say that value of this collection is in the user, not in the brand.” Power to the people.
