Gracie Abrams isn’t over Hamnet just yet.
Today in London, the singer tried to beat the heat in an all-white outfit in a tee and lightweight pants. But her monochromatic look was anything but plain: a red sketch of William Shakespeare was splashed across the front of her T-shirt. The Bard, who declared in Hamlet that “brevity is the soul of wit,” surely would’ve gotten a kick out of the text over his head: “Will Power.”
While she may just love a good pun, Abrams’s quippy graphic tee was also a sneaky shoutout to her boyfriend, Paul Mescal, who starred as William Shakespeare in Chloé Zhao’s 2025 drama, Hamnet—a fictional retelling of how the Bard wrote Hamlet following his son’s untimely death. Mescal’s celebrated performance earned him nods from the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, and Critics Choice, among others. (The BAFTAs also marked the couple’s red carpet debut.)
