Inspired by a newly opened store in Aspen and another forthcoming brick-and-mortar out west (its exact location still under wraps), Veronica Swanson Beard and Veronica Miele Beard have gone yeehaw for pre-fall 2026. This collection isn’t for tried-and-true cowgirls who spend their weekends at cutting competitions, but for the Yellowstone fans who dabble in equestrianism. Case in point: a tweed chore coat and rust-colored trousers that will probably never sit atop a horse, but could very easily end up in a Rimowa headed from the Hamptons to Sedona.
The transitional pre-fall proved a wise moment to pivot out of the ’70s boho that’s defined Veronica Beard’s collections for the past several seasons. It’s still present—see the breezy empire-waist maxi—but this season the Veronicas have presented a more versatile offering. Of course, there’s no shortage of Western motifs: a blue prairie dress with white lace trim, black studded jeans that mimic chaps, and whip-stitched boots and bags aplenty. But even those VB customers who aren’t as keen on the Taylor Sheridan-meets-Ballerina Farm offering will still find the brand’s tried-and-true pieces: novelty denim, chore coats with removable collars (embellished with a pretty floral embroidery this season), and strong-shouldered blazers.
Shoppers are more prudent during these in-between seasons, so the Veronicas hope to appeal to pathos and logos, aiming to make “emotional” pieces that satisfy a wide variety of circumstances. “It’s interesting to have this Western cowboy influence in a lightweight, non-structured, flowy way,” Swanson Beard says. “[We are] keeping the colors light and coming up with different ways to address where she’s going, day and evening, and summer to fall.” For some, that may look like a denim burnout army jacket, while others may find it in a pair of floral jacquard khakis. So, which way, Western woman?
