Summer 2026 isn’t just about having the coolest mani color (or nail art)—we’re looking…well, toward our feet, as well. Celebrity nail artists Milly Mason and Harriet Westmoreland both agree, with one specific look in mind: The French Pedicure is back.
Last week, Kylie Jenner posted photos from her holiday in Turks and Caicos with a classic feet-in-the-sand shot—square toenails painted in the French manicure design with silver tips.
What’s a French Pedicure?
Just like the name implies, the French pedicure shares the same DNA as a French manicure. Typically starting with a soft pink or nude base, the look is finished off with a crisp white “smile line” (aka the tip of the nail) and glossy top coat. “The French pedicure strikes the perfect balance between timeless and modern,” Mason says of the look. “It’s chic and understated, and it works with absolutely any outfit, any shoe and any occasion.”
That’s the classic pink-and-whites—but now, there are varieties of the French pedicure to choose from. “It has evolved far beyond the traditional look,” Milly says, adding that its modern iteration is now super versatile and the world is your nail salon oyster.
Try experimenting with different colored bases, tips, a gradient ombre, and much more. Below, we walk you through some of the different French pedicure styles for inspiration.
