With the 2026 Met Gala now a week away, the best dressed stars of the week clearly had the event on the mind. This year’s theme is “Costume Art,” exploring various depictions of the dressed body, and it so happens that the week’s best looks were those that also featured compelling bodycon shapes. From sculptural silhouettes to skin-bearing designs, A-listers did not play it safe on the step and repeat these past few days—a fashion energy that’s well-suit to the Met steps, too.
In New York City, Apex star Charlize Theron stepped out in a Dior fall 2026 menswear look—a black suit with a frilly collar, which she wore sans top for a sexier slant. At the Time100 Gala, model Anok Yai emerged wearing a shapely leather-effect Ashi Studio dress, which moulded to her body in a 3D fashion—like a sculptural piece of art.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour continued on in London, where stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt continued serving looks. Hathaway and Streep donned Armani Privé tailoring, while Blunt leaned into a full-skirted Michael Kors Collection design adorned with flower-like petals. Florals for spring? It can be groundbreaking.
At the Mother Mary premiere in London, meanwhile, Michaela Coel looked to a fringed Loewe dress that was practically built for twirling. In Mumbai, Rihanna slipped into a sleek black Alaïa dress with a built-in croc bodice. You know what Cher Horowitz said; it’s like a totally important designer.
