Happy awards season to all who celebrate! Ahead of the 2026 Golden Globes—emceed by comedian Nikki Glaser for the second consecutive year—all eyes are on the red carpet.
The 2026 Globes made history before the first award was even announced: for the first time ever, the voting body will present a “Best Podcast” category. As for the films, Paul Thomas Anderson’s action-packed One Battle After Another leads the night with nine nominations—and a staggering five acting nominations. Joachim Trier’s Sentimental Value follows with eight nods, while Sinners earned seven. Lest we forget that the Golden Globes also honor achievements in television: The White Lotus and Adolescence boast six and five nominations, respectively.
On the red carpet, we’re expecting glamour with a capital G. When it comes to marquee awards shows, nominees tend to play it safe, opting for classic gowns over riskier fashion statements. But that doesn’t mean that the Globes are boring by any stretch. Think back to Nicole Kidman’s peacock feather-strewn Gucci dress in 2005, Beyoncé’s glittering Elie Saab—with a plunging neckline, to boot—in 2007, and Lady Gaga’s sweeping periwinkle Valentino haute couture dress in 2018.
Last year proved no exception: Mikey Madison donned Matthieu Blazy’s last custom Bottega Veneta dress—a scaly gold strapless gown—while Angelina Jolie was dripping in jewels in McQueen.
