One could easily imagine that Rihanna might be out of maternity style ideas by now. But in the third trimester of her third pregnancy, she has found the time to experiment. Sure, she’s leaned avant garde in Issey Miyake and Alaïa, but even her everyday errands outfits differ on the daily.
Earlier this week, the Fenty founder opted for a gray striped polo shirt and baggy, ripped jeans for pre-school drop-off for her son, RZA. But yesterday, Rihanna did a sartorial 180, ditching her tomboyish ’fit for a girly, baby pink look.

Rih wore a breezy pink checked trapeze dress from Loewe (clearly, Rihanna’s loyalty to Jonathan Anderson defies brands), which she paired with a pink top-handle bag, and her trusty Puma Speedcats. She finished off the pastel look with her go-to necklace stack, including a pendant from Marie Lichtenberg, Renato Cipullo “R” pendant, and oversized Jil Sander beaded choker. Of course, no pink look would be complete without her rose gold Audemars Piguet Royal Oak timepiece.
If you think this monochromatic moment is an acknowledgement of the baby’s sex, don’t get your hopes up. While Rih has worn her fair share of pink throughout her pregnancy—from pajamas to hoodies to jaw-dropping vintage—blue has also been in regular rotation. She hit the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in a cerulean cutout Alaïa number, celebrated the premiere of The Smurfs in baby blue custom Chanel, and bopped around town in a striped skirt set. Only time will tell!
