“I am not a sweatpants person, but I like to be comfortable,” says Melissa Morris, founder of Métier. “You can still look put together while feeling relaxed!” It’s an ethos that extends to her luxury leather accessories label. Polished structure and rich materials rule—but the pieces are designed to be lived with. There’s the roomy tote that looks its best with a little patina; the blue suede clutch that works as an evening bag, but equally well as an organizer pouch.
Naturally, her travel capsule wardrobe reflects this approach, too. Everything is well-made, high-quality, and designed to last; but with comfort as the priority, she doesn’t have to be too precious with anything. It’s a delicate balancing act, and one she managed to fit, quite impressively, into a duffel for a weeklong stint on the Cycladic island of Tinos. “My friend Isabelle recommended it to me last year; she has the best taste of anyone I know, so I immediately booked,” says Morris. “I usually love to rent a house when traveling with friends, but this time we decided to stay at Odera, a really special hotel, which was such a treat.”
