A group of local flag-wavers welcomed guests upon arrival with flags bearing the Beccaria initials and family crest. Guests were then directed to the front of the church on the grounds. There, some took their seats, while others watched the ceremony from the recently restored larch barn, where a live video of the service was streamed.
The ceremony started at 5:30 p.m. “I felt incredibly grateful for the warmth and love that surrounded me,” Luna remembers. “Even though it was a large wedding, I could feel the closeness and affection of every guest. With my husband standing beside me, holding my hand tightly, I felt completely safe, as if it were just the two of us. In that moment, his hand in mine felt like a promise that he would always be by my side, protecting and supporting me for the rest of our lives.”
After the ceremony, guests moved to the Italian lemon grove garden for an apertivo, between fountains and flowered hedges, and accompanied by live music. As the sun set, guests were escorted to dinner beneath the olive trees. For this portion of the evening, Luna changed into an embroidered tulle gown from the Luisa Beccaria main collection.
At dinner, tablecloths were designed to evoke the branches of the olive trees, incorporating their delicate pattern with subtle touches of lurex. The tables were arranged in a long, flowing S-shape, while the newlyweds’ table formed an infinity symbol at the center. Candelabras were wrapped in lush greenery, creating a romantic tablescape under the Sicilian sky. The dance floor was situated under flowered jacaranda trees, and the lounge area was by the pool and decorated with agave plants.
The dinner menu was a blend of Parmigiano and Sicilian cuisine, reflecting both Leo and Luna’s roots, as his father is from Parma. And, the cake, at 5 feet 7 inches, was taller than both the bride and groom. “It was very artistic, made from an artisanal bakery called Corsino in Palazzolo Acreide,” Luna recalls.
For the after-party, Luna wanted to wear a dress made out of an LED fabric that she’d seen on Claire Danes at the Met Gala years prior. “So we decided to create a skirt and a flounced top with this luminous fabric,” she explains. “I felt like a piece of the moon—or a night butterfly!”
After a late night of dancing under the stars, the celebration continued on Sunday with brunch underneath the lemon trees at the family’s beach house in the Vendicari Nature Reserve. “Looking back, it was all even more beautiful than I could have imagined,” Luna reflects. “The love story between Leo and me feels like a fairy tale—we’ve been together since 2010, growing up side by side and sharing every chapter of our lives. Celebrating our wedding surrounded by the people we love most was truly a dream come true.”
