On a Zoom call from ice-cold Detroit, Tracy Reese reiterated how she chose the name for her business: It’s about “learning to be good custodians of the planet,” she said. “And then it’s also about each of us—especially young people—and that seed within us that deserves to be nurtured.” Having set down roots in Michigan, this collection showed that the designer is flourishing there.
Reese’s pre-fall collection was narrowly focused, being designed, she explained, “for people who have wonderful occasions in June.” Easy-to-wear silhouettes, made in responsible materials, like a strapless number with bubble hem or a convertible dress that can be worn with streamers flowing down the back or, alternatively, tied around the waist for a more fitted look, were repeated in different prints and fabrics. In keeping from the trends we’re tracking for pre-fall 2026, Reese offered cold shoulder tops, pieces in openwork broderie anglaise, and a caped top that forms a set with a minidress.
“I never want summer to end,” said Reese, and her splashy “dreamy floral print” captured the light, free, spirit of that season.
