After showing off her expansive black bag repertoire (Chanel, Alaïa, Prada, Hermès!) in recent months, Dua Lipa just did an about-face with her purse preferences.
Yesterday, the singer was spotted at a meeting with producer Mark Ronson in New York City (do we smell another album already?), where she embraced the art of the oversized ’fit. A disciple of the big shirt-big pants school of dressing, Lipa wore a baby blue button-up over a white tee, which she paired with roomy black trousers. She added a feminine touch with a pair of pointy-toe kitten heels, and her aforementioned statement bag.
What Lipa carried on her shoulder was a conversation-starting purse: a large leopard print shoulder bag embroidered with Vivienne Westwood’s signature orb. A longtime fan of the British designer, Lipa most memorably wore the label to the 2021 Brit Awards, where she helped kickstart the orb choker trend.
Ever the trendsetter, the singer was also early to the leopard print revival. Ahead of the 2023 Met Gala, she paired a Marc Jacobs bag with a sculptural olive green knit dress and the designer’s distinctive Kiki boots. So, be it a formal dinner or a casual meeting, Dua Lipa knows that a leopard print bag adds a dose of whimsy to any outfit.
